"It all began in a little town in Mexico in the spring of 1994, where I met my husband David Crowe."
After a life of adventure — moving from Texas to California, back to Texas, then to Ohio — the Crowe family finally put down roots in Jefferson, NC, nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
David had spent 25 distinguished years as an oil executive. But when British Petroleum acquired Amoco and David found himself "retired," he made a decision that surprised everyone: at 55, he enrolled in medical school. He completed every course, every rotation, every residency, and in 2019 was proudly hired by Wake Forest Baptist Health.
In October of 2021, David was diagnosed with mantle cell lymphoma. Six months of chemotherapy followed — grueling, uncertain months. Then, in March of 2022, came the news we had prayed for: the cancer was gone.
To celebrate this miracle, and what would have been our 25th wedding anniversary in September, we decided to build a little chapel on our land. A place of gratitude. A place of love.
Sadly, he passed away in August of that year, and the completion of the chapel was left to me.
David's dream didn't die with him. I carried it forward, finishing every detail, honoring every intention. The chapel was completed in the spring of 2023, standing quietly on the mountain land we loved.
For a time, it sat unused. The grief was still too close. But David had always wanted the chapel offered to others, for small weddings, for elopements, for anyone who wanted to begin their life together in a place made sacred by love and loss and faith.
Now, it is time. Little Chapel Ranch is open — and we hope that when you walk through its doors, you feel everything that went into building it.
May God bless you and your families.
